2029 NatCon Playoff Snapshot

All OBWL 2nd Teamer and six-time All Star PF Udo Bach will lead the Honolulu Inferno in an exciting and highly competitive 4/5 matchup with PG Charles Ackerman and the Seattle Sea Dogs.

 #1 BOSTON BUZZARDS (61-19) vs. # 8 MANHATTAN SWING (36-44)

Key Players

Boston: Sheldon Perkins (21.8ppg 5.9rpg)
Manhattan: Michael Spriggs (16.3ppg 5.2apg)

On paper this looks like a mismatch....and that's because it is. Boston shook off some early season doldrums to run away with the NatWest and the NatCon. The Buzzards are mega-talented and ultra-deep BUT Perkins needs to be dominant.

The Swing struggled this season. They are rag-tag bunch who competes hard every night but just don't have the overall talent to win on a consistent basis. Spriggs needs to have a Superman performance for his team not to be swept.

PREDICTION: Boston sweep

Key Players

Minnesota: Tony Pence (18.6ppg 6.8rpg 7.1apg)
Toronto: Daniel Garretson (17.8ppg 6.5rpg)

Minnesota wins 55 games but barely gets talked about when discussing the elite OBWL teams. Led by Pence, Evans and Lawler this team can play with anyone. They should make quick work of a plucky, young Huskies team that overachieved early but came back to earth as the season progressed. Fear not Toronto fans, Garretson, Clark and Vetter will only get better.

PREDICTION: Marauders in 5

Key Players

London: Charles Flowers (12.3ppg 8.3rpg 3bpg)
New Jersey: Jose Gaynor (20.2ppg 5.9rpg)

The Knights look to make another run at a Cup. This veteran team needs Flowers and Larry to dominant the interior in this series. Both have the track record and both still have game, no matter what their age is.

The Evolution seemed to be a team knocking on the door of the upper level of the NatCon only a few seasons ago. Things have not played out like that but this team does have talent and looks to be a tough out because they have the best player in the series in Gaynor.

PREDICTION: London holds on and takes the series, 4-2

Key Players

Honolulu: Udo Bach (23.5ppg 7.4rpg 3.6apg)
Seattle: Charles Ackerman (23.2ppg 6.3rpg 10.2apg)

The lower half of the top bracket is the polar opposite of the top half. This series could not be more evenly matched. A couple of factors could make a big difference, the Inferno hold home court and 2 SeaDog starters (Cazares and Dooley) are just coming back from injuries.

Both teams have talent and solid role players that were keys reasons for the 50(+) win seasons. However, it will come down to whichever superstar (Bach or Ackerman) can dominate the most.

PREDICTION: Ack carries his team to a Game 7 victory, Seattle 4-3
