The Los Angeles Chaos made it to the second round of the 2026 OBWL Playoffs, but were no match for the Kansas City Pioneers, who ended their run in 5 games. The Chaos entered the rookie draft with pick #16 in the first round and they chose the 22 year old SG from North Carolina, Grant Middleton. The 4-star recruit hails from Bedford, Virginia where he was an All-State high school athlete. As a Junior at North Carolina, Middleton averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and had a .462 field goal percentage. Middleton was selected for his strong inside game, good passing and rebounding.

The Chaos had 2 picks in the second round and they selected SG Roscoe Winkle from Minnesota and SF Peter Wirl from Michigan State. The two players have already hit it off and are referring to themselves as "Wink and Wirl". Winkle was a 5-star recruit and High School All-American with many more college accolades than Middleton, but his draft stock plummeted during the OBWL combine. Winkle is slow as a slug and many franchises didn't rate him highly for the fast paced OBWL. Despite the sluggishness, Winkle a great inside game, good rebounding and passing. Wink and Wirl were both 1st Team All-Conference in the Big Ten. Peter Wirl is a good sized SF with good post defense, but his skill set may not ever be enough to have an OBWL career.

The Chaos front office had 17 million to spend on trying to supplement the roster. They tried bringing in some big names, but failed in signing a star player. Unless you consider the aging Brian Montes as a star. Montes was signed to a 1 year minimum deal. Montes certainly has been a star in his career, but his star power has declined. On this Chaos roster, Montes will probably get the starting SG spot, however and maybe it will be a bit of a career rejuvenation for him. Montes works on this squad because he will not be the main focus for the offense and he doesn't have to be. Montes will still contribute about 15 ppg or more and that should be enough.

The Chaos signed a good backup PG for David Bouchard. Chris Brawner was signed to a 2 year deal worth a little over 9 million. Brawner's ball handling skills are at the top of the league and he plays really good defense. I could see the Chaos sometimes putting in a small ball squad at times with Brawner and Bouchard both on the court at the same time.

The Chaos signed a few big men to fill out the bench. They will be fighting for time, because the Chaos have a great starting front court in Askew and Culbertson. LA signed Daniel Black, Johnnie Bechtel and Raphael Brownell.

LA has a good roster now, but overall it was a disappointing draft and free agency. Chaos fans were expecting more. At this rate, the Chaos will probably be middle of the pack again.
