The Las Vegas Blackjacks, proud members of the OBWL, have new ownership.  This troubled franchise has missed the playoffs the last 3 seasons. The previous owner finally made the choice to sell, so a new ownership group was sought out. Enter the owner of the San Jose Eagles, Michael Olson, who was the first to submit an offer for the flailing franchise.

“In spite of the teams record we saw a great opportunity in this franchise. There are only twenty-eight men in the world who can claim they own an OWBL franchise. I would be insane to have turned this chance down”, said new owner Michael Olson. “We have a ton of work to do and it may take us a while to see the light, but trust me we will get there. There have been some strange trades and draft picks, but we feel it’s going to be alright. This season is almost over and we are evaluating the players and staff every day and some changes will come for sure. That’s part of the game.”

Las Vegas has their work cut out for them. Time will tell if this franchise in need of an identity will rise to the challenge.  With only 103 wins in the last three seasons, the fans should be considered the heroes for sticking with the franchise. “The fans are the rock that this team needs from which to be formed. They give their heart and soul and we owe them a product of which they can be proud . Without them we have nothing.”
