St. Louis, MO - It has been a nice season with a rund to the conference finals of the AmCon for the St. Louis Sunkings. Within a little over a year, the Sunkings managed to rise from a bottom 3 team to a top 4 team. One of the main reasons was a new roster and gameplay setting that put superstar PF Dong Richardson into his comfort zone. In the past 2020 season, Richardson managed to win the OBWL MIP Award by putting up amazing stats.

Despite playing about a minute less per game, Richardson improved his points per game by 5.4 points, his rebounds per game by 0.7, his field goal percentage by 6%, all while lowering his turnovers by 0.5 per game. "Dong always had it in him, but we put a lot of focus on his stamina last offseason to give him the chance to play better during the time he is on the court. This little extra energy push, together with a lineup that fits him well, made a big difference for us", says SunKings Headcoach Clay Houck.

Richardson himself was confident as always: "It was about time that the officials recognise and honor my game with an award. Except for Flowers, no big in this league comes close to my game, so it was about time for me to win MVP or another award. Shoutout also to ma boy Frankie Will, who put quite a lot of pressure off my shoulders and set me up well a lot of times."

With his contract expiring, it remains to be seen where Richardson will play next season. The Sunkings will definitely hit him with a max contract out of the gates. With their recent playoff run, a "play for winner" guy like Richardson will certainly think about staying. But if history taught us one thing, then it's: Free Agency is hell!
