New York - Another off-season in the books and to be honest, we have no idea what to expect from this years team. The draft they happened to snag Fredrick Rickman the OCBL Champion and the final games MVP out of Syracuse. "We still aren't quite sure what we have in him yet. We liked what we saw in him this entire college season, but until we see him in training camp all we can do is speculate." Said Giorgio Piumarta the Swing's official scout. It's a whole different monster when jumping from the College game to the pro's, and all we can do is wait. In the second round the Swing took Terrance Miner who will more than likely spend most of his time in the Developmental league until further notice. During Free agency Manhattan didn't make much of a splash.

They did however resign Maurice Pokrajac  surprisingly cheaper than expected. Last year Maurice was making close to 14 million and he signed with the Swing for half the amount. This helped save enough money to add some much needed depth to the bench bringing in Cyrus Burkhart a defensive specialist with above average handles for a SG, and a not so bad outside shot putting him in the category of a 3 and D player. Manhattan also signed Matt Messenger a journeyman who can't quite seem to find a place to call home. With his size and rebounding Manhattan are eyeing a move to PF to help with depth problems that have riddled the swing since Kade Kramer's departure. He will now be in a dog fight with 3rd year man Whitney Cherry at a possible starting spot on the Swing.

Although the team is finally 100% healthy going into training camp we have no idea what we have here. With a newly inked head coach and a couple new promising assistants we are pretty much in the dark as to where to predict how this season will go. You better believe that we will hold the new regime accountable for any woe's that are incurred during this season, because in the empire state...we are impatient, and we don't believe in rebuilding...just retooling, because in the wise words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that".
